Material collages 

This week in our science lessons, Zircon class experimented with different materials and how well they flew as airplanes. We then decided to add these different materials to their fantastic self portraits by creating collages. Have a look at their imaginative creations!

Spellings:   words which end in ‘el’ (making the l sound)

This week we would like you to learn the following spellings ready for a test at the end of next week:

camel towel
funnel tinsel
tunnel chisel
squirrel travel
barrel shrivel

You can use any method you want to learn your spellings. Talk with your parents about any methods they know!


Handwriting:
 

Please write a sentence using each of the words above, using your best handwriting.  This is also a great way to show that you understand the meaning of the words.

Times Tables:  

This week you need to be revising all the times tables learned (x2,3,4,5 and 10).

Reading:  

Make sure you read with an adult every day. Comment on your reading in your reading diaries.

Self Portaits 

Zircon class carefully sketched their self portrait this afternoon using a photograph. They then replicated it on the other side to make a whole face and we will be using different materials next week to cover the face in collage.
