Cultural Day (Friday 7th June)

As part of our ‘Proud to Be Me’ theme next half term, Year 2 will spend Friday 7th June celebrating the many different backgrounds and cultures that we have at Heavers.

Children will have the opportunity to present a short talk about their background, heritage or religion. This could be prepared over the half term. Children could bring also in a special item to show the class during their presentation.

The children can come to school in own clothes (traditional clothing from their home culture if they so wish).  They may also bring in some traditional food to try but please ensure this does not contain nuts.

This day will be a lovely chance for the children to celebrate the diversity we have in our classes and to find out about each other’s backgrounds!

Have a lovely half term and a restful break! – Y2 Team

Upcycling fun’

Citrine Class enjoyed taking a collection of recyclable products and turning them into something useful. This term we have been talking about the problems facing the environment in terms of plastics pollution and the need to reduce, reuse, recycle!
